Chef Takeshi Ishizaka and manager Tomo Ishizaka, Japanese husband and wife, started this small Asian Fusion Restaurant in 2011. Since then, SOY Asian Fusion is a one of the locals favourite place to eat in the Mission area in Kelowna. We created original Ramen, good soups, fresh salad rolls, hand crafted Asian / Japanese appetizers, rice bowls and more. Qualifications:
– Ability to communicate orally in English is required.
– Completion of secondary (high) school is required.
– 2 years to less than 3 years of work experience as a cook is required.
Job duties:
– Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods;
– Cook, prepare, and present Salada and Starters such as Kinpira, Ohitashi Salad, Buckwheat noodle INARI, and Teriyaki TOFU;
– Cook, prepare, and present Hand-crafted Asian Appetizers such as Karaage, Sockeye Salmon cake, Prawn Mayo, and Vegetable Spring rolls;
– Cook, prepare, and present Original Asian Burgers such as Beef Burger, Fish Burger, and EBI-EBI Burger;
– Cook, prepare, and present Signature Noodle Dishes such as Spicy Coconut RAMEN, MISO Sesame RAMEN, VEGAN SHIO RAMEN, and VEGAN SOBA Salad;
– Cook, prepare, and present Signature Main Dishes such as Korean BBQ Beef Rice Bowl, Grilled Thai Chicken with rice, Vegetable YAKISOBA noodles, and Original Curry rice;
– Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances;
– Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food;
– Plan menus, determine size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs, and monitor and order supplies and equipment;
– Inspect kitchens and food service areas;
– Supervise kitchen staff and helpers;
– Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment;
– Clean kitchen and work areas.
