Salary: $22.00 hourly for 30 to 40 hours per week

Qualifications:
– Ability to communicate orally and in writing in English or French is required
– Completion of secondary (high) school is required
– 3 years to less than 5 years of work experience as a cook or a chef in a restaurant is required

Job duties:
– Prepare and cook food on a regular basis;
– Prepare, cook, and present hot and cold appetizers and dishes such as Japanese style salad, miso soup, and Tataki;
– Prepare, cook, and present Japanese style deep fried dishes such as Crispy Gyoza, Tempura, and Karaage;
– Prepare, cook, and present Japanese style Bentos;
– Prepare, cook, and present Japanese style noodle dishes;
– Prepare and present Sushi and other rice dishes;
– Prepare Dashi (Japanese stock);
– Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff;
– Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food;
– Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food;
– Demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to cooking staff;
– Plan menus, and requisition food and kitchen supplies;
– Create new recipes;
– Analyze operating costs and other data;
– Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales and inventory
