Kitchen Supervisor

Salary: $18.00 hourly for 30 to 44 hours per week

Qualification:
– Ability to communicate orally and in writing in English is required;
– Completion of secondary (high) school is required;
– 2 years to less than 3 years of related work experience in food preparation or service is required.

Job duties:
– Supervise and co-ordinate activities of kitchen staff and counter attendants;
– Train kitchen staff and counter attendants in sanitation and safety procedures;
– Train staff in job duties;
– Ensure food service and quality control is always properly implemented according to the service and quality standards of Bakery Nakamura;
– Establish work schedules, and methods and plans to meet the schedules for kitchen staff and counter attendants;
– Estimate ingredient and supplies required for daily operation;
– Requisition food and kitchen supplies, and ensure a healthy level of stock is always maintained;
– Report operational issues to the owner when required;
– Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales and wastage;
– Prepare budget and cost estimates for food and kitchen supplies;
– Recruit, interview, and hire staff.

– Workers Supervised: Bakers, Pastry cooks, Food service counter attendants and food preparers, Kitchen and food service helpers;
