Store Manager – Retail

Location: Toronto, ON
Salary: $43.27 hourly for 30 hours per week

Qualification:
– Ability to communicate orally and in writing in English is required;
– Completion of secondary (high) school is required;
– 3 years to less than 5 years of related retail or wholesale sales experience at increasing levels of responsibility are required.

Job duties:
– Direct and control daily operations;
– Evaluate daily operations;
– Plan and organize daily operations;
– Manage staff and assign duties;
– Study market research and trends to determine consumer demand, potential sales volumes and effect of competitors’ operations on sales;
– Determine merchandise and services to be sold;
– Implement price and credits policies;
– Locate, select and procure merchandise for resale;
– Develop and implement effective sales and marketing strategies;
– Plan budgets and monitor revenues and expenses;
– Determine staffing requirements taking into consideration business development strategies as well as the needs of adequate human resources to maintain the current business operation;
– Resolve issues that may arise, including customer requests, complaints and supply shortages;
– Recruit, hire and supervise staff;
– Oversee payroll administration;
– Conduct performance reviews.

Qualification:

Job duties:
– Open and close the store daily;
– Supervise and coordinate sales staff and cashiers;
– Assign sales workers to duties and prepare work schedules;
– Authorize payments and the return of merchandise;
– Resolve issues that may arise, including customer requests, complaints and supply shortages;
– Maintain and organize inventory;
– Order and sell merchandise;
– Prepare reports regarding sales volumes, merchandising and personnel matters;
– Hire and train or arrange for the training of new sales staff and monitor and report on performance;
– Ensure the visual standards and image of the store are maintained, such as store displays, signage and cleanliness;
– Perform the duties of sales staff if required.
