Salary: $16.00 hourly for 30 to 44 hours per week

Qualifications:
– Ability to communicate orally and in writing in English is required;
– Completion of college, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years or equivalent experience is required;
– 2 years to less than 3 years of experience as a hairstylist is required;
– Ontario Hairstylist Licence is required;
– Experience and skills in permanents including Japanese hair straightening and digital permanent are an asset

Job duties:
Hair Colouring duties:
– Streaking/highlights; Bleach; Dyes/tints; Frosting; Ombre; Balayage

Hair Styling duties:
– Permanents (including Japanese hair straightening and digital permanent); Iron waving/curling; Spiking; Roller setting; Pin curls; Blow drying; Extensions; Twisting; Locking; Relaxing; Hair braiding; Updo

Hairstylist Specific duties:
– Clean and style wigs and hair pieces when requested;
– Suggest trendy hair style compatible with client’s physical features or determine style from client’s instructions and preferences;
– Cut, trim, taper, curl, wave, perm and style hair;
– Analyze hair and scalp condition and provide basic treatment or advice on beauty care treatments for scalp and hair;
– Apply bleach, tints, dyes or rinses to colour, frost or streak hair

Additional duties:
– Book appointments;
– Shampoo customers’ hair;
– Perform receptionist duties;
– Maintain and order supplies;
– Provide hair treatment;
– Recommend and sell hair care products to customers
