Salary: $20.45 hourly for 44 hours per week

Qualifications:
– Ability to communicate in English orally and in writing is required;
– Completion of secondary (high) school is required;
– 2 years to less than 3 years of work experience as a cook is required;
– Completion of Apprenticeship or Training in Professional Sushi Making is an asset;
– Work experience in a Japanese restaurant and/or knowledge on Japanese Cuisine is an asset.

Job Duties:
– Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods with minimal supervision;
– Cook and prepare hot and cold Udon Noodles;
– Cook and prepare appetizers such Butakaku, Tako Wasabi, Gyutan Yawaraka-Ni, Tonkatsu, and Soft Shell Crab;
– Cook and prepare various set menus such as Buta Kaku Udon & Unagi Don Set, Kigiage Udon & Unagi Don Set, Chicken Katsu Set, Hamachi Kama Set, and Chirashi & Udon Set;
– Cook and prepare Donburi dishes such as Katsu Don, Gyu Don, Ten Don, Unagi Don, and Kaisen Don;
– Prepare and present Sashimi, Sushi and Temaki Sushi;
– Schedule kitchen staff;
– Train and supervise kitchen staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food;
– Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment, and order supplies and equipment;
– Clean and inspect kitchen and work areas;
– Plan menus, determine size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs, and monitor and order supplies.
