Salary: $20.00 hourly for 30 to 44 hours weekly

Qualifications:
– Ability to communicate orally and in writing in English is required
– Completion of secondary (high) school is required
– 2 years to less than 3 years of work experience as a cook is required
– Experience of working in a Japanese restaurant and/or knowledge on Japanese cuisine is an asset
Job duties:
– Prepare and present Nigiri Sushi, Aburi Oshi Sushi (torched and pressed Sushi), Sashimi, and Sushi Rolls;
– Prepare, cook, and present Japanese appetizers and dishes such as Kaiso Seaweed and Heirloom Tomato Salad, Wagyu Tartare, Chicken Nanban, Ebi Fritters, and Teriyaki Octopus;
– Prepare, cook, and present Kaiseki (feature course menu);
– Prepare, cook, and present SHUSAI entrée such as Kaisen Soba Peperoncino, Kyoto Saikyo Miso Sablefish & Lobster, and Wagyu Striploin;
– Suggest and plan menus, determine size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs;
– Train and supervise kitchen staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food;
– Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment;
– Order food/ingredients, supplies, and equipment;
– Clean and inspect kitchen and work areas
