ABURI TORA’s roots are steeped in Japanese history, in contrast to its futuristic dining style. Owner Seigo Nakamura, originally from Miyazaki, Japan, took over his father’s restaurant, Sushi TORA when he was only 20 years old, in 1996. Four successful restaurants and ten years later, Seigo set his mind to bringing a traditional style of sushi restaurant - Kaiten, to Canada, but in a modern way with higher quality offerings. Paying homage to his roots, he named it TORA

Salary: $2,800 monthly for 40 hours per week

Qualifications:
– Ability to communicate orally and in writing in English is required
– Completion of secondary (high) school is required
– 1 years to less than 2 years of work experience as a cook is required
– Experience of working in a Japanese restaurant and/or knowledge on Japanese cuisine is an asset
Job duties:
– Prepare, make and present Aburi Oshi Sushi, Edoprime Nigiri, Rolls, and Sashimi;
– Prepare, cook, and present cold and hot appetizers and side dishes on the menu;
– Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances upon request;
– Estimate food requirements and costs;
– Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment;
– Order ingredients, supplies, and equipment;
– Clean and inspect kitchen and work areas.
