Salary: $18.00 hourly for 30 to 44 hours per week

Qualifications:
– Ability to communicate orally and in writing in English is required;
– Other trades certificate or diploma or equivalent experience is required;
– 2 years to less than 3 years of work experience as a hairstylist is required;
– Ontario Hairstylist Licence is required;
– Experience in permanents including Japanese hair straightening and digital permanent is an asset.
Job duties:
– Analyze clients’ hair and scalp condition and provide basic treatment, advice on beauty care treatments for scalp and hair and/or recommend/sell hair care products;
– Suggest hair style compatible with client’s physical features and/or determine style and hair colour from client’s instructions and preferences as well as based on their hair and scalp condition;
– Cut, trim and taper hair with scissors, trimmers and clippers according to client’s instructions or preferences;
– Apply and provide hair colouring: streaking/highlights, bleach, dyes/tints, ombre and balayage;
– Apply or provide hair styling: permanents (including Japanese hair straightening and digital permanent), iron waving/curling, twisting, spiking, roller setting, pin curls, blow drying, hair braiding and updo;
– Shampoo clients’ hair;
– Apply and provide hair treatment;
– Provide hair scalp conditioning massages;
– Teach newly hired hairstylists job duties and hairstyling/colouring techniques when needed;
– Clean and style wigs and hair pieces when requested;
– Perform receptionist duties as required;
– Order supplies when requested;
– Book appointments
