Salary: $26.00 hourly for 40 hours per week

Qualifications:
– Ability to communicate orally and in writing in English is required;
– Completion of secondary (high) school is required;
– 2 years to less than 3 years of work experience as a cook in a restaurant is required

Job duties:
– Support corporate chef in new restaurant set-ups and new projects;
– Attend corporate operations meetings to report and discuss kitchen operations;
– Ensure and control quality of dishes according to the company’s quality standards or regulations as well as the concept of each restaurant;
– Train kitchen staff in:
how to prepare food and ingredients;
how to prepare and cut fish, meat and vegetables;
how to make sauce and dressing;
how to make dishes on the regular menu based on the theory and the company’s quality standards;
– Supervise and direct kitchen staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food;
– Prepare, cook and present Japanese dishes on the menus;
– Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances upon request;
– Suggest/plan menus according to the restaurants’ concepts, determine size of food portions and presentation of food, and estimate cost, together with the management of each restaurant;
– Inspect and ensure that kitchen and work areas are clean and sanitary;
– Manage food hygiene based on food handler guidance;
– Seek constantly improvement in the daily operations of each section in the kitchen or each restaurant;
– Oversee kitchen operation, together with the management of each restaurant
